ALLAN F. SHOEMAKER - Friday - July 12, 1996

Allan F. Shoemaker, 90, of Spokane and formerly a longtime resident of Manson, died Wednesday, July 10, 1996, at his home in Spokane.
Mr. Shoemaker was born Aug. 11, 1905, at Spokane, the son of Oliver and Emma (Fitch) Shoemaker. He attended schools in that area, and graduated from Marcus High School. He then attended Cheney Normal School where he received a teaching certificate.
For 14 years, he taught school in various locations, including one year at Lothair, Mont.
In 1935, he married Gladys L. Carson. About 1943, the family moved to the Lake Chelan area, where Mr. Shoemaker was employed with the Lake Chelan Reclamation District. He retired in 1973. Following his retirement, he continued to work at jobs for three more years.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1979. Since 1993, he has resided in Spokane to be near his children.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry of Spokane and Ramon of Tonasket; two daughters, Ruby Shoemaker of Seattle and Luana Forest of Royal City; and three grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Services are under the direction of Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
ALLAN F. SHOEMAKER - Services will be conducted Monday, July 15, at 10 a.m. from Precht Rose Chapel. Mr. Chas. Morris and Mr. Harry Henninger will officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Services are under direction of Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
