At the age of 61, her beautiful heart stopped beating on a Monday after a long courageous fight with breast cancer. She was a resident of Oregon, Wisconsin. Fran was the daughter of Francis and Agnes (Fargen) Dederich. Fran spent her childhood on the family farm near Plain, and attended a one room elementary school at Loreto. She graduated from River Valley High School, Spring Green, in 1963, the first graduating class from the new school. Fran married Phillip Keller on October 30, 1965. Phillip preceded her in death on September 18, 1978. She married Wayne Thatcher on December 26, 1979. Fran was employed by the Medical School at UW Hospital, Madison and retired after 32 years. She was an active member of Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church and was a greeter, lay distributor, member of the bible study group and assisted at other church functions. Fran and Wayne attended the Hodag Music Festival for many years and enjoyed country music. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and NASCAR fan, attending many races. Fran was a member of the Red Hat Society and Berlin Tankers Group. She enjoyed Tai Chi, flower gardens, traveling, dining out, down hill and cross country skiing. Fran is survived by her husband, Wayne Thatcher; a daughter, Kimberly Kay Blanchard; her mother, Agnes Dederich; step-children, Laura Thatcher and Steve Thatcher; grandchildren, Zane, Oliver and Isabel Blanchard; step-grandchildren, Carmen Justo, Dylan Thatcher and Toni Staley; step-great-grandchild, Braden Staley; sisters, Carol Kraemer, Karen Dederich, and Rita Gilbertson; a brother, Sid Dederich; brother-in-law, Ray Kraemer; sister-in-law, Phyllis Micke; and a niece, Carolyn Sinden. Fran was preceded in death by her first husband, Phillip Keller; father, Francis Dederich; and step-daughter, Sharon Thatcher. Fran's burial was on Saturday, March 18, 2006.
