PARIS: Lea Garner Hassell, 66 of Paris died Wednesday, December 5 at her residence. Funeral services will be held in the LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home on Saturday, December 8 at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will follow in the Point Pleasant Cemetery in Springville. Visitation will be today from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home and on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
Mrs. Hassell was born July 25, 1941 in Jackson to Elzie Simon and Lucy Horn Garner. For thirty years she was the owner of Mobil Home Supply of Paris. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her mother, Lucy Horn Garner of Jackson; a daughter, Diane (Rick) Griffith of Atlanta; three sons: Dan Allen (Misty) Hassell, Alvin David Hassell III (friend, Letty Chenoweth), and Benn Scott (Melissa) Hassell, all of Paris; one sister, Patsy Hinson of Jackson; three brothers: Dwight and Johnny Garner of Jackson and Dewey Garner of Olive Branch, Mississippi; and thirteen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin David Hassell, Jr. and her father, Elzie Simon Garner.
