Woodrow (Toby) Secord, was 27 years old when he was injured critically by a car, crossing Genesee Street in New Hartford, NY. His injuries resulted in his death. He was on his way to work, as a cook, at the Jack and Andy Diner in New Hartford.

Mr. Secord was born in East Branch.He was the son of Eva Tyler and James Secord. He married his wife Mary Lickiewicz, on November 18,1942.

He leaves behind his wife, Mary Frances Lickiewicz Secord and their son, Brian T Secord. Also surviving him are three sisters; Mrs. Geraldine O'Brien of Windsor, Mrs. Winifred Baxter of Delhi, Mrs. Lella Young of Binghamton, three brothers; Richard and Raymond of Delhi, and Roscoe of Hamden, and several nieces and nephews.

UTICA — Woodrow Secord, 27, 405 Rutger St., died last night in Faxton Hospital of injuries suffered Saturday night after being struck by an automobile as he was crossing Genesee St. in front of the New Hartford theater. Mr. Secord, employed as a cook in the Jack & Andy Diner, New Hartford, was on his way to work when he was hit by a car driven by Harold W. Willoughby, Rochester. Dr. Preston R, Clark, coroner, said an inquest will be held late this week. The victim was born in East Branch on Aug. 29, 1918, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Secord. He lived in Delhi for a number of years and came to Utica four years ago. His widow, the former Mary Lickiewicz, survives with a son, three sisters and three brothers.
