Was born in Canandaigua, Ontario County, New York on August 10, 1804. The principal part of his education was received in the schools of his native town. In November of 1837 Orville was married in Sandusky County, Ohio to Miss Lydia M. Chase, a native of Hopewell, Ontario County, New York. Lydia was born on August 27, 1818. In November of 1839 they moved to Farmington, Fulton, Illinois and in April of 1841 moved to Princeville, Illinois in Peoria County where Orville died on April 21, 1859. He left his widow and seven children, Annie, Elvira, Frank, Cornelia, Emma, William, and Lester O. Orville left a valuable estate which was highly improved.
Politically, he supported the Whig Party
