Thomas F. Eastman, 62, of Alamogordo, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at his home.
Mr. Eastman was born July 28, 1945, in Salem, Mass., to John Alfred and Marie Cecelia (Kosinski) Eastman. He graduated from High School in Salem and then joined the military. He first served in the U.S. Navy, then in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. Following his Air Force enlistment, he attended East Coast Aero Tech and then joined the U.S. Coast Guard from which he retired a Petty Officer First Class. After retiring from the Coast Guard he worked in civil service at Holloman Air Force Base in Supply and retired in June 2006. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sacramento Mountains Ward; the V.F.W.; and the Masonic Lodge in Franklin, Mass.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Mary Eastman, of the family home; a son, Billy Eastman, of Provo, Utah; a daughter, Tory Hatch, and her husband Alan, of Las Cruces; and his mother, Marie Eastman, of Salem, Mass.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1800 23rd Street.
Interment will follow in Monte Vista Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m.
Services are under the direction of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
