Our beloved Gary passed peacefully into the arms of his Heavenly Father on December 29, 2007, held in love by his family. We will miss him greatly. Gary was born in Monroe, Utah to Callie & Harvey Hugh Christensen. He grew up surrounded by siblings, Lois, Zola, Gordon, Ronnie and Sonja.

He married the love of his life Tamra Taylor, and her two daughters, Kellie & Terri on November 16, 1962. Together they were blessed with three sons, Grant, Todd, and Derek. He and Tamra were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 23, 1999. Always a hard worker, Gary began his career at the young age of 14, harvesting beets and potatoes, milking cows before school, and tending cattle. He was a self-made man, owning and operating several successful businesses over the course of his lifetime. Through his hard work and example, his children learned. His success as a father can be measured by the ability of those children he leaves behind. Gary had a special gift of helping people discover and recognize the good within themselves, not always in an easy way. He made you challenge yourselfand helped you grow. He is loved and respected for his strength and stubborn nature, and honored for the humble nature he discovered within himself and shared with us all as he grew older. He loved the News, the Utah Jazz, and tennis. "Turn on the Ball game" rings forever in our ears!

Gary leaves behind so many; his devoted wife, Tamra; daughter, Terri Kirschen; sons, Grant, Todd, and Derek; and their amazing, loving spouses: Barry, Lisa, Maria, Erin and son-in-law Gregory Sharp. Gary was grandfather to Shawn and his wife Elisha, Elisha Marie, Jordan, Aaron, Meckenzie, Stockton, Hagen, Attley, Ava, Skylar, Sarah, and Coda. He was great-grandfather to Tristan and Bram. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kellie Sharp, his parents, his sisters Lois and Sonja, and his brother Ronnie.

A Memorial Service to honor him and celebrate his time on earth was held on Wednesday, January 2nd 2008 at 12:00 Noon at the Sandy 2nd Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 586 East 8400 South in Sandy, Utah. A Viewing was held at 10:30 AM Prior to Services.
Gary was laid to rest after the conclusion of the Funeral Services at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Sandy, Utah beside his Daughter, Kellie.
REST IN PEACE.
