Memorial services for former McMinnville resident Alice Baker of Wilsonville will be held at a later date. Interment will be conducted at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in McMinnville.

Mrs. Baker died at Marquis Care in Wilsonville on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007. She was 89.
Born in Ludington, Mich., on March 12, 1918, she was the daughter of William and Anna (Thorson) Fenner. She moved to Wisconsin as a young girl.
She married Robert Baker in June 1936 in Marinette, Wis. The couple made Marinette their home until 1947, when they moved first to Salem and later to McMinnville.
In her retirement years, she has lived by turns in Sisters, Bend, Albany, Tigard and, since 2003, Wilsonville.
She traveled with her husband throughout Western Canada and the U.S. West and Midwest, and began traveling solo after his death. Her greatest pleasure was visiting England in March 1998 to attend her daughter's wedding at Shrewsbury Castle.
She enjoyed needleworking, quilting, cross-stitching, gardening and reading. She loved playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Baker is survived by two sons, Gary of Sherwood and Robert of Hillsboro; five daughters, Barbara Nelson of Tigard, Pat Stoutenberg of Newport, Cheryl Johnson of Drain, Diana Wilcox of Hemet, Calif., and Joann Davies of Andover, Hampshire, England; a sister, Viola Lipp of Milwaukee, Wis.; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1977, and a son, Roger.
