Ray Neil Carter, 77, of Las Cruces died Thursday (Aug. 5, 1999). Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Baca's Funeral Chapel West, where the funeral will take place at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Earline his daughters, Marie Magee and Sandra Chavez three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a World War II and Korean War Marine Corps veteran. He retired from the Marines as a major. After his military career, he became a certified property manager. In 1982 he moved to Las Cruces and became affiliated with Sun Belt Realty. He retired from real estate sales in 1988.
