Mollie's family moved outside of Stockham when she was a young girl, and she attended country school there.
On January 21, 1926, she was united in marriage to Marion Bayne at Stockham. They farmed in the vicinity of Aurora and Giltner until 1968 when they moved to Aurora. Marion preceded her in death on February 29, 1972. Mollie moved into Hamilton Manor in Aurora in 1983.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a charter member of North Community Extension Club, and a volunteer at the Grand Island Veterans Hospital.
Those who preceded her in death are her parents, her husband, one son, Robert Lee Bayne, one brother Harry Schmidt and one sister Viola Griess.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are 2 sons, Gary Bayne of Aurora and Donal Bayne of Crete, one brother, Bill Schmidt of Sutton, 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
