George Bordman Hindsley was the son of Daniel Hindsley and Charlotte Ann Green. He was raised on farms in Kent County Delaware and Caroline County, Maryland. He moved to Philadelphia before 1891 and worked as a trolley car driver. He married Margaret Ann Farley on December 9, 1891. Their children were Mary Charlotte (Walton), George Anthony Hindsley, Leo Patrick Hindsley, Leonard Francis Hindsley, Joseph Patrick Hindsley and John James Hindsley
