Leila Mae Brown, age 90, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2007 at a local care facility.
She was the daughter of Ernest and Stella Weekley. Mrs. Brown was a native of Bagdad and a lifelong resident of Ward Basin. She and her late husband, Ottis Brown, were the owners operators of Brown's Fish Camp on Yellow River for over 72 years. Mrs. Brown was a member of Hickory Hammock Baptist Church and also attended First Baptist Church of Milton. She loved gospel music and was a member of Hickory Hammock's choir. Mrs. Brown is also preceded in death by a sister, Marie Weekley; and a brother, Wilburn Weekley.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be 2:00PM, Monday, November 26, at Lewis Funeral Milton Chapel.
Burial will follow in Hickory Hammock Community Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00PM, Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel.
