Eleanor Alice Gregory Gunter, 76, of Winston-Salem, N.C., died Friday November 9, 2007, at the Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, N.C.
She was born December 23, 1930 in Patrick County and was a daughter of the late Edward Duncan Gregory and Mary Alice Massey Gregory. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Columbus Gregory, Ralph Gregory, and Guy Gregory; and sisters, Lessie Thomason, Kathleen Gunter and Daisy Byrd.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Oak Forest United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, James Winfred Gunter of the home; three sons, Wesley Gunter of Welcome, N.C., Everette Gunter of Massachusetts and Stewart Gunter of Welcome; three daughters, Teresa Gunter of Wilmington N.C., and Kathryn Snow and Amy Gage, both of Winston-Salem; four brothers, Jess Gregory, James Gregory, Paul Gregory and Thomas Gregory, all of Virginia; one sister, Myrtle Gregory of Virginia; and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Oak Forest United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jacqueline Tookey officiating. Entombment was in the Parklawn Memorial Park cemetery.
