Lute Boone was a professional baseball player with the New York Yankees from 1913 to 1916. He finished his major league career with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1918. He played for the American League All-Stars in 1914.

Lute was a member of four minor league pennant winners. He retired from baseball in 1936. During his long career, Lute played second base, third base, shortstop, and outfield.
