Betty C. Richardson, 89, a lifelong resident of Parkersburg, died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at her residence.
She was born April 17, 1916, a daughter of the late Ira Franklin and Bessie Partridge Congrove.
Mrs. Richardson was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed word puzzles, canasta and the company of her family and pets.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Ann Camp of Parkersburg; two nieces, Grey Rile and Beth Stephens; two nephews, Brian and Eric Congrove; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Congrove.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin B. Richardson in 1982; her beloved son, Marvin L. "Skip" Richardson in 1989; two sisters; one brother, Lawrence Congrove of Vienna; and her pet companion of many years, "Saytee Girl."
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Evergreen North Cemetery with the Rev. Donald S. Maxson officiating. At Mrs. Richardson's request, there will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Humane Society of Parkersburg or Housecalls-Hospice. The Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg, is assisting the family with arrangements.
