8 Sept 1949: Lucian G. Keller, who spent most of his lifetime as a cigar maker and was widely known in the cigar-making community of Newmanstown, died there at his home on Main Street, on Wednesday afternoon. He was 80 years of age and retired from his trade activities several years ago. He was born in the Newmanstown region, a son of the late Ezra and Lucetta (Weiss) Keller, and remained there throughout his life. He resided in the house where he died for 35 years and his wife, Emma (Betz) Keller, died there in 1942. He leaves three sons, Harry of Reading; Paul and Elwood, of Newmanstown; and three daughters, Earla, wife of Samuel T. Kurtz, of Kutztown; Blanch, wife of Wilbur Hardy, of Dunbar, Pa., and Pearl, wife of Raymond Noble, Wernersville. There are nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Charles Keller, Wyomissing, is a brother, and Mrs. Ann Dissinger, Newmanstown, is a sister. He was a member of the Newmanstown Volunteer Fire Company. [Lebanon Daily News]
