Galena, Kan., March 12.—Funeral arrangements for Fred L. Stone, Pioneer resident of Galena, who was found dead in bed at his home. No. 617 East Seventh street, at 6 o'clock this morning, have not been made, pending the arrival of relatives.

Mr. Stone was in apparent good health and had attended church services Sunday.

He was born in Granby, Mo., was 56 years old, and had been a resident of Galena for forty-four years. He was married to Miss Mary A. Dickey, June 25, 1890.

He was a prominent business man of Galena, having been head of the Stone Pinson Machinery & Perforating Company for a number of years, and was also engaged in mining.

He was a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge of the state of Kansas, also of the M. W. A., and of the local Methodist Episcopal church. He was for some time a member of the city council.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary A. Stone; one son, Fred T. Stone, and one daughter, Miss Martha Stone, all of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Lula J. Anthony of Webb City, Mo., and Miss Dimple Stone, of Chicago, Ill., and. one brother, Oliver Stone, of this city.

FUNERAL TO BE
HELD WEDNESDAY


Galena, Kan., March 1S (sic).—Funeral services for Fred L. Stone, prominent Galena citizen, who was found dead in bed at his home, 617 East Seventh street, at 6 o'clock Monday morning, will be held from the Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, with the Rev. E. E. Hollar officiating. Burial will be in Galena cemetery. The I. O. O. F. lodge of Galena will be in charge of the services at the grave.

The pallbearers will be Fred Smith, John Adams, Warren Stinger (sic) [Stringer], Alex Dixon, June Kibler, A. J. (sic) Black.

Mr. Stone, who was head of the Stone & Pinson Machine & Perforating Works of this city, was also engaged in mining here, and was well known throughout, the district. He was one of the best known members of the Odd Fellows lodge in the state of Kansas. He was for some time a member of the city council and was affiliated with the local Methodist church and the M. W. A. lodge.

WILL BE HELD TODAY


Galena, Kan., March 13.—The local I. O. O. F. lodge, of which Fred L. Stone was a member, will have charge of funeral services at the grave Wednesday afternoon. The funeral sermon will be delivered by the Rev. E. E. Hollar, pastor of the Methodist church, at 2:30 o'clock. Fred Smith, John Adams, Warren Stringer, Alex Dixon, June Kibler and A. G. (sic) Black will be pallbearers.

Mr. Stone had been a resident of Galena, many years, and was well known throughout the district, as he has been engaged in mining In the early days of Galena, and was head of the Stone and Pinson machinery and perforatory (sic) works. He was found dead in his bed at No. 617 East Seventh street, at 8 (sic) [6] o'clock Monday morning. He was apparently in good health when he retired the night before.

Members of the Ku Klux Klan placed a fiery cross upon the bier of Mr. Stone last night.

ARE LARGELY ATTENDED


Galena, Kan., March 14.—Funeral services for Fred L. Stone, prominent Galena citizen, were held from the Methodist church by the Rev. E. E. Hollar, pastor, at 2:30'o'clock today and were attended by a large number of his friends from the entire district. Burial was in Galena cemetery.
