Son of Prof. (and Pulitzer-prize-winning historian) Andrew Cunningham & Lois Thompson (Angell) McLaughlin. Grandson of University of Michigan President and diplomat James Burrill & Sarah Swope (Caswell) Angell and Muskegon civic leaders David & Isabel (Campbell) McLaughlin. Law Professor at Harvard University. Author of the Federal Bankrupcy Act of 1932 and many related books and articles. He legally changed his surname to MacLachlan in 1952. Brother of Rowland Hazard McL Sr., David Blair McL, Pulitzer-prize-winning historian Constance (McL) Green, Isabel (McL) Stephens, and Esther (McL) Donahue, Prof. MacLachlan was killed in an automobile accident in Tennessee. His wife Mary Jane (Carrier) MacLachlan Greve is buried with her second husband in St. Louis MO. They were survived by five children, sixteen grandchildren & many great-grandchildren.
