Alta Zera Henderson was born August 3,1842 in Hopkins Co., KY to Burnett M. and Nancy Williamson Henderson.She died Dec.3,1926,
age 84 years and four months,at the home of her son,James Nicholas Scobee in Greencastle,MO.
She was married the 19th of Sept.,1860,to James Stinson Scobee in Putnam Co.,MO.To this union four girls and three boys were born;John,Nancy,Louisa,Hannah Jane,Cordelia,
David Frank and James Nicholas.Five of them survive her along with her sister,Elizabeth Tycer of near Pennville and many grandchildren and great grandchildren,and a large circle of friends.
Several years ago she united with the Church of Christ and the church life and its' spiritual activities were ever present in her life. She was a kind and devoted mother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
