CHURCH HILL – Mrs. Martha Sue Anderson, 70, of Church Hill, Route 1, died in Munal Clinic at 2:30 p.m. Saturday after a long illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Christian. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Henderson Anderson; seven daughters, Mrs. Bertha Anderson, Mrs. A. L. Barker, Mrs. E. D. Arnold and Mrs. Raymond Alley, of Kingsport; Mrs. George Lawson, Mrs. Woodrow Lloyd and Miss Lassie Anderson, Church Hill; four sons, Steve and Lawrence Anderson, Surgoinsville; Fuller Anderson, Church Hill, and Lark Anderson, Kingsport; one sister, Mrs. Tilda Short, Kingsport; 31 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bethel Church in Stanley Valley. The Rev. T. M. Franklin will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Doyle, Fred, Joe, Billy and Jimmy Anderson and Charles Arnold.
The body will be removed to the home at 10 a.m. Monday from Carter-Clamon Funeral Home.
