Nannie Verna Daniel O'Dell, 91, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Nannie was born on Sept. 24, 1921, in Colleyville to Nannie and Charlie Oscar Daniel. She attended Pleasant Run School, where she played basketball. She worked in the cafeteria for the Birdville Independent School District for 23 years. Nannie was always smiling, and everyone always enjoyed her sense of humor. She was deeply loved and will be missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Edward S. O'Dell; her parents; and all of her eight siblings. Survivors: Children, Charles O'Dell, Jennie Bohannon and husband, Loyd, Janice Kay Franklin and husband, Lee; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
