Daughter of Claburn Hamm and the former America James. Born 26 December 1864 in Perry, Illinois. Received her education in the Perry Illinois school system. Belonged to Methodist church in Baylis, Illinois.

Lou Aiken passed away 14 April 1952 at a nursing home in Barry Illinois. her husband Curtis Aiken predeceased her.

Reverend R. A. Carrothers led services held at the Methodist church in Baylis, Illinois, with interment at McCord cemetery, Perry, Illinois.
