Sgt. U.S. Army, {RA19399012}, Vietnam War-Sgt. Marrietta was killed in action by small arms fire during Operation Van Buren on 2-7-1966 while serving as an Light Weapons Infantryman with the HHC, of the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. Sgt. Marrietta started his tour of Vietnam on 7-8-1965.

Sgt. Marrietta is the son of Mr. Joseph P. Marrietta of Box, 1654, Sacaton, Arizona, and the beloved husband of Mrs. Elvira S. Marrietta of 111 Rainbow Lane, New Providence, Tennessee, and the brother of Mr. Phillip Marrietta of Sacaton, and one child, Miss Enrica E. Spinetto also of Sacaton, Arizona.

Sgt. Marrietta reenlisted with the Army in Sacaton on 4-15-1960, and he had 14 years of service, Form 1300 says he is an American Indian, and of the Catholic Faith.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Jump Wings, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, 4th award.
