WASHBURN -- Mamie E. Zook, 101, of St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Lacon since 1983, formerly of Washburn, died at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 1993, at the nursing home.
Born Aug. 15, 1891, in Hopewell Township, Marshall County, to Joseph P. and Katherine Klein Maubach, she married Fred W. Zook on Dec. 27, 1916, in Henry. He died in September 1962. Two sons, Norman and Leland, three brothers, three sisters and two great-grandchildren also preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Washburn and its Altar and Rosary Society.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at her church. The Revs. Neri Greskoviak and Jeffrey Laible will officiate.
Burial will be in Linn-Mount Vernon Cemetery in Washburn. Newton Memorial Home in Washburn is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
