My maternal aunt, daughter of Harry William "Billy" Linderman & Phylis Adele Eugenia (Palen) Linderman of Houston, Harris, Texas; formerly of Winona, Minnesota and Dubuque, Iowa.
Survived by Sisters Yvonne Phyllis (Linderman) Burgess Levesque, and Jean Marie (Linderman) Frederick Mancill, both of Houston, Harris, Texas.
Preceded in death by Sister, "Billie" Yvarra Irene Linderman)Jackson of Houston, Harris, Texas.
Wife of J. E. John Elva "Jay" Cooke of Matagorda, Texas. John Elva Cooke survived his wife, Patsy.
Married: 3 Jun. 1949 in Liberty, Liberty County, Texas. Divorced. Remarried: 7 February 1971 and again in 1975 in Matagorda, Matagorda County, Texas.
Aunt Patsy died of Lung Cancer.
Mother of four children. One son, John Harry Cooke, preceded her in death in 1952 at one month of age, they called it "crib death" now called "sudden infant death syndrome.
Survived by two Sons, Stephen Jay "Steve" Cooke of Matagorda, Texas, Matthew Adam Cooke of Houston, Harris, Texas; and daughter, "Becker" Rebecca Sue Cooke (Reeder)(Floyd) of Kingsbury, Guadalupe, Texas.
Patsy was a L.V.N. for years. She loved working in Nursing homes with older people, who really needed her.
She was an artist like her Mother, Phyllis Eugenia (Palen) Linderman.
The Cooke's, Linderman's, Jackson's, and the Frederick's all had a summer place together in Gayhill, Washington, Texas. Phyl & Harry William "Billy" Linderman owned a tavern named "Saturday's Tavern", there in Gayhill,Texas in the 1950's. Phyl played the piano, Harry tended bar, Kenneth Jackson, Patsy Cooke, Jean Frederick, and Phyl Linderman sang in the tavern together. Grandma Linderman played the piano and Grandpa Linderman played the violin and organ. The Tavern was only open on Saturday's.
