D. B. Grigsby, a native of Elkhart, died at 2:10 p.m. Thursday in a Houston hospital following a long illness. He was 63.
Funeral services were scheduled for 4 p.m. today in the Hassell & Foster Chapel with Dan Manuel officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Elkhart.
Pallbearers will be Howard (Doc) Hackett, Jack Steadman, Harold Burks, David Burke, Ray Coleman and Bernard Duitch.
Mr. Grigsby was born June 18, 1913, in Elkhart, a son of the late William Pugh Grigsby and Gertrude Irene Coleman Grigsby. He was reared in Myrtle Springs and lived there until 1952.
At the time of his death, he was residing at 5202 Bell Street in Houston, where he had lived since 1961. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Texas Brinson Grigsby of Houston; two sons, Dwight Brinson Grigsby of Houston and William Glenn Grigsby of Lafayette, La., two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Dwight (Locadie) Grigsby of Houston and Mrs. William Glenn (Lois) Grigsby of Lafayette, La., a brother, Coleman Grigsby of Elkhart; and three sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Ruby) White and Mrs. B. W. (Nancy) Fulmer, both of Palestine; and Mrs. J. O. (Weda) Robinson of Dallas; six grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
