Mrs. Macy Arnold, 87, of 512 S. Linden Ave., was dead on arrival at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday at Waynesboro Community Hospital.
Mrs. Arnold had been a member of Mt. Vernon Church of the Brethren for the past 65 years. She was the widow of Andrew Preston Arnold, who died July 21, 1957.
Born in Augusta County Jan. 31, 1884, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Nannie Snead Goode.
She is survived by three daughters, Miss Seyna Arnold, Mrs. Nancy R. Coffey and Mrs. Virginia Hewitt, all of Waynesboro; one sister, Mrs. Martha Coffey of Lyndhurst; also, 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The body will remain at the Etter Funeral Home until one hour prior to the service, which will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Mt. Vernon Church of the Brethren, conducted by the Rev. Guy Stump and the Rev. Grant Simmons. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Earl Houff, Carl Grove, Marvin Rowe, O. C. Powell, Ray Kimble and Paul Hollinger.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Thomas L. Gorsuch, Dr. B. K. Weems, Landon R. Coffey Sr., Reginald Hatter, Roy Kiser, Jessie Brydge, Earl Kindig, Charles Fur and Allen Koontz.
Friends will be received at the residence, 512 S. Linden Ave.
