Originally from Carroll County, Indiana, as was her husband. They moved to Elkhart County and back to Carroll County near Pyrmont. Later, Lucy moved into Lafayette with her sons. Sons Donald, Robert Charles, and Roy Dale served in the Armed Forces during World War II. Lt. Col. Robert Charles Wise also served during Korea and Vietnam and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Section 54 Site 4336.
Lucy was the daughter of a settler of Carroll County near Pyrmont, Samuel Studebaker and Candes Stinebaugh Studebaker. Her husband Frederick L. Wise was a son of John D. Wise and a descendent of Samuel Wise, one of the first settlers of Carroll County in the 1820's.
