MRS GEORGE MERRITT DIED WEDNESDAY NOON

After Suffering for Nearly Three Months Death Angel end all Pain of Estimable Woman of the Bedford Ward

Mrs Martha Merritt beloved wife George Merritt of Bedford died at home of her parents. Mr and Mrs Jacob Michaelson north of this city Wednesday noon. Deceased had been ill for nearly three months suffering from the after effects of the influenza. About nine weeks ago she was brought to the local hospital, where her leg was removed in an effort to save her life, but the poison caused by the non-circulation of blood through her limb had reached the system and gradually scattered until death claimed her at 12 o'clock Wednesday.
The deceased was born in St. Charles, Idaho, and at the time of her death was 45 years of age. About 26 years ago she was united in marriage to George W. Merritt with whom she moved to Bedford, where they were numbered among the oldest settlers. To this union was born nine children, eight of whom are left motherless by the untimely death of this estimable lady.
Funeral services will he held at the Bedford Meeting house Sunday afternoon, being conducted by Bishop Fluckiger.
The lower valley feels much bereft at the death of two good woman the last week. One Mrs George Merritt of Bedford and Mrs Alf Dana. Both left a family of children.
Mrs Merritt's funeral was held in Bedford Sunday and Mrs Dana's funeral was held at the Thayne church the same day.
