Barbara Rothrock was the seventh of eleven known children of Peter Rothrock (1746-1829) and Catharine Mueller (became Miller) Rothrock (1749-1803), who married on 09 Oct 1770 at York, York County, Pennsylvania. The family moved to the Moravian settlement of Friedberg, then in Surry (area became Stokes County and then Forsyth County) County, North Carolina in 1771.

Barbara married George John Gladfelter (became Clodfelter) (1785-1870) on 19 Mar 1808 at Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. Many records show Barbara died 17 Mar 1821, though the Moravian and her grave marker records 1820, which I will use. Note that Barbara's grave marker reads Gladfelter, though George and her children appeared to transition to the more modern Clodfelter. However George's grave marker reads Clodfelder (sic).

Barbara and George were the parents of five known children, namely:

1. Louisa Gladfelter/Clodfelter Snider (1808-1874)
2. Joseph Gladfelter (1810-1810)
3. Lydia Gladfelter Fishel (1812-1892)
4. Christina Gladfelter Snider (1814-1884)
5. Jeremias (Jeremiah) Gladfelter/Clodfelter (1818-1890)

Was Jeremiah really a child of this family?

Some records list Daniel Clodfelter (1819-1898), who married Phebe Jane Newsome, as a child of this family. Can anyone confirm this? Other records show Lewis Clodfelter (1816-p1850), who married Caroline Cannady (1816-p1850) on 06 Apr 1836 at Rowan County, North Carolina as a son of this family.
