Lloyd Edward Conklin, 88, of Havana died at Mason District Hospital in Havana, Wednesday, May 16, 2007. He was born June 24, 1918 in Kilbourne, IL to Leslie Ray and Flossie Charlotte (Ade) Conklin. He married Lora Mae Blessman September 14, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI.

Mr. Conklin is survived by his wife, Lora of Havana; one son, Michael (Illa) Conklin of Peoria; four sisters, Evelyn Williamson of Milwaukee, WI, Nina Patrick of Bath, Daisey Emmons of Alton, IL, and Patsy Kramer of Bloomington, IL; and one brother, James Conklin of Petersburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers and sisters and one daughter Nancy Koke on May 25, 1982.

Mr. Conklin was a member of VFW Post #6408 in Havana. He served in the US Army from 1941 to 1944 in North Africa in the African Conflict, receiving a Purple Heart. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He worked at Illinois Power in Havana for 28 years retiring in 1978.

Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.
