Benjamin W. "Ben" Grinstead, Sr., 68, of Hawkinsville, GA, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, May 4, 2007 in the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home with Dr. Kelly Pritchett and Dr. Robert Woodall officiating. Burial will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Mr. Grinstead was a native of Pulaski County and a member of the Broad Street Baptist Church. He was a retired engineer having worked with the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a retired Brigadier General having served with the Georgia Army National Guard. He was a member of the Masons. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Grinstead, parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Grinstead, sister, Louise G. Maine, brothers, George E. Grinstead, Ramsey T. Grinstead, Davis Grinstead and Kenneth Grinstead. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Wyl Sweeney (Brian) of Warner Robins, GA; sons, Benji Grinstead, Dana (Kimberly) Grinstead and Jason Grinstead, all of Hawkinsville, GA; six grandchildren, Brad Whiddon, Johnathan Whiddon and Brittany Whiddon, Noah Grinstead, Ben Grinstead III and Madison Grinstead; sisters, Mary Wyl Kinard, Hawkinsville, GA and Nell Wiggins of Macon, GA; brother, Tom Grinstead of Hawkinsville, GA. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Thursday evening May 3, 2007 at Clark Funeral Home. Clark Funeral Home Hawkinsville, GA in charge of arrangements
