Frances Maxwell Cook, 97, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at Porter Springs Cemetery adjacent to her husband, Lansford Cook. Porter Springs is near Crockett in Houston County. Services will be conducted by Rick Kelley of the Grace Street Church of Christ in Crockett.

Frances was born in Whitney, Texas, to the late William Nuckols and Florence (McCabe) Nuckols. She graduated in 1930 from College of Industrial Arts, retired from the Houston Independent School District as a teacher and counselor, and lived many happy years on land originally settled by early Cook family.

Frances was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Wofford.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Doris Dell, of Woodland Hills, Calif.; son, the Rev. Bob Maxwell, of Robinson; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, W.D. Nuckols, of Clifton; many other family members and numerous friends.
