FAIRMOUNT — William J. Roberts, 78, of Fairmount, died July 21, 2007, at his residence.
He was born May 29, 1929, in Albany, Ky., the son of William Roberts and Ella (Sells) Roberts. He retired from General Motors in 1970 after 20 years.
He married Willadean (Guffey) Roberts, and she preceded him in death on March 3, 1991. He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, whittling and woodcarving.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Felton of Hartford City, and Mary (Stephen) Hedrick of Fairmount; two sons, Eddie Roberts of Summitville, and Kennie (Patricia) Roberts of Jonesboro; one sister, Izora Stover of Albany, Ky.; one brother, James (Sue) Roberts of Upland; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren,
He was preceded in death by two sons, Donnie and Marty Roberts; grandson, William E. Roberts; and two sisters, Ethel Thrasher and Mary Roberts.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, with the Rev. Todd Graham officiating. Interment will be in Park Cemetery in Fairmount.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
