Funeral service was set for 4:00 p.m. today for Mrs. Kathleen "Kate" Truslow Thompson, 69, who died at her home in Nellysford at 2:00 p.m. Saturday. She was born in Nellysford Feb. 28, 1877, the daughter of Hezekiah and Virginia Truslow. She is survived by her husband, John William Thompson; four daughters, Mrs. Reathy Meeks, Mrs. Maggie Thomas, Mrs. Robbie Davis, Mrs. Mary Davis, all of Nellysford, and three sons, Mae Thompson, William Thompson and Rodney Thompson, all of Nellysford. One sister, Mrs. Ella M. Bragg, Avon, and 10 grandchildren also survive. Funeral service was held at Wintergreen Christian Church with Rev. J. L. McKinney, pastor conducting the service. Interment was in the family plot at Nellysford. Active pallbearers were Willard McGann, Hoy Truslow, Angus Campbell, James C. Thompson, Page Groves and Joe Puckett. Flower girls were Vivian Thompson, Mrs. Marion Campbell, June Campbell, Mrs. Jack Apple and Mrs. Carroll Campbell. Waynesboro News Virginian-date of paper: January 13, 1947

The obituary for Kathleen Thompson Truslow contains several errors in relationships. Census records and other official records indicate that Hezekiah Truslow was married to Nancy Butler Gianniny and not Virginia. Kate was the not the daughter of Hezekiah and Nancy Truslow but their granddaughter. In the 1880 census Kate was listed as 3 years old living with her mother Paulina Truslow (age 23) and her grandparents, Hesikier (age 62) and Nancie (age 56) Truslow. Kate was raise by her grandparents at what is now known as Wintergreen in Nelson County. She married John William Thompson son of William Brookins and Virginia Frances Perry Thompson. She is buried in the family plot at the Wintergreen Church Cemetery on Stoney Creek Rd. in Wintergreen, Nelson County.

Kathleen's biological parents were Jerry Crawford and Paulina Truslow, daughter of Hezekiah Truslow and Nancy Butler Gianniny Truslow.
