Isaac Graves was born in Vienna, Oneida Co. New York, Aug. 20, 1791. On July 4, 1814, at the age of 23, he married Mary Johnson, also of Vienna. They had 3 children. 1)William Bradford Graves, born July 13, 1816. Married Eliza Allen of Vienna, They had 2 children. 2)Mary Melissa Graves, born in Vienna N.Y. on March 18, 1818. Married James Ward of Dundee Twp. Monroe Co. MI. on October 28, 1844. They had 3 children. 3)Matilda Philena Graves, born in Vienna N.Y. on October 9, 1819. Married Clinton Jackson of Dundee Twp. Monroe Co. MI. on April 1, 1837. They had 5 children. The first 2 died in infancy. Mary Johnson Graves died in 1820, and Isaac Graves married Hannah Darrow of Vienna N.Y. on January 1, 1822. Her parents were George and Beulah Darrow. Isaac and Hannah had 12 children: 1)Charles Alvin Graves, born January 27, 1823, married Elmira Rocelia Holt of Dundee Twp. Monroe Co. Michigan on July 3,1845. They had 6 children. 2)Charlotte Sophronia Graves, born in Vienna, New York, on December 12, 1824, married Harry E. Stevens, of London Twp. Monroe Co. MI. originally of Rutland, Vermont. They had 7 children. 3)Anna Maria Graves, born in Vienna N.Y. on October 12, 1826. Died in Dundee Twp. Monroe Co. MI. June 21, 1836. Age 9 years, 8 months. 4)Harriet Marilla Graves, born in Vienna N.Y. on September 9, 1828. Married Ansel Palmer of London Twp. Monroe Co. MI. September 22, 1850. They had 5 children. 5)Betsy Jane Graves, born in Vienna N.Y. on January 25, 1830. Married Merrit Howe of London Twp. Monroe co. MI. on November 28, 1852. They had 7 children. 6)Julia Algenia Graves, born in Vienna N.Y. February 4, 1832. Died in Dundee Twp, Monroe County, MI on October 9, 1855. Age 23 years. 7)George Joshua Graves, born in Dundee Twp, Monroe County, MI on April 4, 1835, married Mary A. Finch in Calhoun County, MI. on December 10, 1865. They had 5 children. 8)James Isaac Graves, born in Dundee Twp. June 12, 1838, married Amanda Aldrich, of Kalamazoo County MI on May 15, 1864. They had 5 children. 9)Rhoda Elmira Graves, born in Dundee Twp, April 8, 1840, married Thomas E. Havens, of Comstock Twp, Kalamazoo County on August 13, 1864. They had 5 children. 10)Celia Emmeline Graves, born in Dundee Twp. April 13, 1842, married Simeon Howe, of London Twp. Monroe Co. MI. July 5, 1858. They had 4 children. Died Aug 3, 1887. 11)Jonathan Alonzo Graves, born in Dundee Twp, Monroe Co. February 6, 1844. He enlisted in the Army and served with Co. K. 6th Michigan Heavy Artillery as a private during the Civil War. He was wounded and died either from a wound or disease in a hospital in Tennessee on December 12, 1861. He was 23 years of age. 12)Hannah Phidelia Graves, born in Dundee Twp. Monroe Co. MI. February 1, 1847 married David Havens, of Comstock Twp, Kalamazoo Co. MI. on October 2, 1866. They had 2 children. David K. Havens died in Kansas in 1895. Hannah Phidelia died in Alta Vista, Kansas July 6, 1910. Isaac Graves, died September 26, 1847, while staying with his son, Charles Alvin, in Hope Twp. Barry Co, North and West of Grand Rapids.
