US Congressman. After serving in the United States Army, he was admitted to the bar in 1951 and commenced the practice of law in Cleveland, Ohio. He was assistant director of law, city of Cleveland, 1951 to 1954 and special counsel to the attorney general of Ohio, 1958 to 1962. In 1965, he was elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-ninth Congress, serving until 1967. Not a candidate for reelection, he resumed the practice of law and was appointed Commissioner of Cuyahoga County Ohio, in 1976 serving until 1980.
