Dora Rabe, the daughter of William and Augusta (Harsh) Rabe, was born October 15, 1891, in Kossuth County, Iowa. She attended rural schools in the West Bend area.

On October 7, 1913, Dora and Herman Gronbach were married at West Bend. The couple farmed north of Livermore until 1951 when they retired and moved into Livermore. Mrs. Gronbach was then employed in the Livermore school food service for a number of years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Livermore and a charter member of the Friends and Neighbors Club. She enjoyed sewing, handwork and gardening as hobbies.

Dora Gronbach passed from this life on Friday, May 11, 1979, at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital in Humboldt. She had attained the age of eighty-seven years, six months and twenty-six days. She is survived by two sons, Harold and Leroy (Kelley), both of Livermore; three daughters, Mildred, Mrs. Roy Brown of Bode, Freda, Mrs. Richard Cran of Livermore, and Helen, Mrs. Allen Sinclair of Livermore; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; two brothers, Charlie Rabe of Livermore and Otto, a resident of the North Care Center in Humboldt; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Bell of Mankato, Minnesota, and Mrs. Tillie Bleuer of West Bend. She was preceded in death by her husband, one graddaughter, three brothers and four sisters.
