Mr. Bedle had been ill all winter, but had not been confined to the house. He was out on Saturday, but complained of a sharp pain in his side.
He was taken worse that night and failed rapidly. The cause of death was a complication of the liver, kidneys and heart.
Mr. Bedle was the son of the late Elijah and Annie Bedle and was born in the vicinity of Keyport, on June 4th 1815.
He was married on December 12th, 1839, to Miss Catherine Cottrell, who survives him.
The fruits of their marriage were thirteen children, six of whom survive, Three sons, Aaron H., Elijah, and Asbury, of this place, and three daughters, Mrs. Kenny Ward, of this place; Mrs. J. Wesley Hill, of Rosedale, Kansas; and Mrs. Stephen Aumack, of Keyport.
The funeral services took place on Wednesday afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock, from Calvary M.E. Church, Rev. James D. Crumley and REv. Elias Watts, officiating.
Internment in Raritan Cemetery.
