The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, March 24, 1938
==========================

Martha Knapp was born September 27, 1870, at Gilman, Illinois, and passed away at her home in Nelson March 24, 1938, at the age of 67 years. She came with her parents to Nebraska in 1877.

She was united in marriage to Richard Benson who preceded her in death. To this union were born two daughters and one son. Of these children only one daughter, Mary, remains.

Accepting Christ as her Savior, she became a member of the Presbyterian Church of Nelson, where she worked faithfully as long as her health permitted.

The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by the Rev. John Caldwell. The choir sang a hymn, and Orin Goodrich of Hastings sang two solo numbers. Members of the high school faculty were pallbearers.

CARD OF THANKS

I wish to thank all those who were so kind and thoughtful during the illness, and after the passing of my beloved mother. Mary Benson
