Services for Thelma J. Kronewitter, 73, of 13651 E. Seventh St., who died Tuesday morning in Countryside Place of Mishawaka, will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Mrs. Kronewitter retired from Uniroyal in 1977 after 38 years. She was born May 31, 1916, in Peru, Ind., having moved to Mishawaka in 1923. On July 23, 1945, in St. Louis, as Thelma VanScoyk, she married Harold F. Kronewitter. He survives along with a daughter, Bobbie Turley of Mishawaka; two sons, Marvin E. of Los Angeles and Marion L. of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Glassburn of Roseland; and four brothers, Edward and Wayne, both of South Bend, John of Edwardsburg and Robert VanScoyk of Jacksonville, Fla. Mrs. Kronewitter was past Indiana commander of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and past commander of Chapter 19 Elkhart American Veterans Auxiliary. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 88 of Elkhart and Daughters of American Revolution.
