Rubye E. Barnes, 68, of Batesville passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at White River Medical Center.

She was born on Thursday, April 2, 1936 in Fleetwood, Oklahoma and was the daughter of Robert L. Waters and Mary Lee Sewell Waters. She was retired from GenCorp and of the Baptist faith.

Rubye is survived by her husband, Harley Junior Barnes of the home; her mother, Mary Lee Waters of California; one son, Roger Barnes of Shelby, North Carolina; and one daughter, Kay Kramer of Rosie. Other survivors include her five grandchildren, Ashley Kramer Jackson of Batesville, Statler Kramer of Rosie, Brittanie Barnes of Batesville, Leah Bowers of Batesville and Carrie Morgan of Rosie; three great-grandchildren, Jaiden Smith and Kori Bowers of Rosie, and Jennie Morgan of Rosie. She is also survived by her brother, James A. Waters of Hastings, Oklahoma; two sisters, Ila Carson of Montclair, California and Jo Ann Parker of Fontana, Californian and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; one son – Harley Gene Barnes; one grandson, Jackie Barnes and one brother, Lester Waters.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2004 in the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday.

Burial will be at Egner Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. (870) 793-4161.
