YORK Neola L. (Smith) Firestone, 82, died Friday, May 18, 2007, at 5 a.m. at Rest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Harry C. Firestone, who died October 26, 1976. Funeral service will be Friday, June 1, 2007, at 10 a.m. at WorkingerSemmel Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York. Officiating will be Father Barry E. Yingling, chaplain at the Brunswick at Longstown. There will be no viewing. There will be a visitation Friday 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Firestone was born July 24, 1924, in Red Lion. She was a daughter of the late Paul and Minnie (Seiple) Smith. Mrs. Firestone was an accountant with the York Dispatch for 35 years. Following retirement, she was a receptionist at Rest Haven-York for 10 years. She prepared income tax returns at her home for many years. She was a member of the former Emmanuel United Church of Christ and a graduate of Red Lion High School. Survivors include one son, Lynn M. Firestone and his wife, Linda of York; two grandsons, Shawn Firestone and Chris Firestone; five great-grandchildren; and great nieces. She was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Mundis.
