John Phillips
San Leandro - John Edward Phillips, a retired bartender of 125 Warwick Ave., died on his 80th birthday Saturday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Livermore.
Mr. Phillips tended bar at the Alameda Hotel in Alameda for 40 years. He was a native of California.
He is survived by his wife, Alma Phillips; a son, Robert Phillips; two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Randall Phillips, and a great granddaughter Tara Phillips.
Funeral services were to be today at Guerrero Mortuary Chapel. Private burial rites were to be in Lone Tree Cemetery, Hayward.
