Professional hockey player. He was born in Fort Francis, Ontario, and grew up in the area. In World War II he served with the Canadian Navy, being discharged in 1945. Following his service Kryzanowski enrolled in the University of Toronto, earning a B.P.H.E. and played on two CIHU hockey championship teams. The Boston Bruins took interest in him and signed Kryzanowski to a contract in Oct. 1948. He played most of the next four seasons with the NHL club. Ed was traded to Chicago in 1952, where he played five more NHL games. The Blackhawks sent him back to the Bruins later that year, who in turn assigned him to their AHL affiliate. Kryzanowski played minor pro for the next few years with Providence and Hershey. Following his professional career Kryzanowski turned to teaching and mentored students in Atikokan, Warroad and Colorado Springs before retiring in 1979. Ed was inducted into the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame and the University of Toronto Hall of Fame. Ed Kryzanowski died in Atikokan, Ontario, where he had been living since 1995 with his wife.
