~~~ Forever In Our Hearts ~~~
God looked around His garden And He found an empty place. He then looked down upon
This earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best.
He knew that you were in pain. He knew that you would never Get well on earth again.
So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered, "Peace Be Thine."
He then took you up to Heaven with Hands gentle and so kind.
It broke our hearts to loose you, But you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you The day God called you Home.
~~~~~~~ Dad ~~~~~~~

Dad...so many images come to mind
whenever I speak your name;
It seems without you in my life
things have never been the same.

What happened to those lazy days
when I was just a child;
When my life was consumed in you
in your love, and in your smile.

What happened to all those times
when I always looked to you;
No matter what happened in my life
you could make my gray skies blue.

Dad, some days I hear your voice
and turn to see your face;
Yet in my turning...it seems
the sound has been erased.

Dad, who will I turn to for answers
when life does not make sense;
Who will be there to hold me close
when the pieces just don't fit.

Oh, Dad, if I could turn back time
and once more hear your voice;
I'd tell you that out of all the dads
you would still be my choice.

Please always know I love you
and no one can take your place;
Years may come and go
but your memory will never be erased.

~~~~~~~~~Dad~~~~~~~~
Your shoes are hard to fill,
Your name came from God above;
Who gives most precious gifts
To acknowledge sacrificial love.
Gentleness marks your spirit,
Strength is your basic man,
Warmth your heart embraces
Success always your plan.
You have extended love and guidance
Through all my childhood years,
Comforted hurts and heartaches,
Dried many childish tears.
You have been steadfast beside me,
As I became all strong and grown;
Learning to make the best decisions;
I could not have made it on my own.
I thank you for your faithfulness,
Your patience when I was mad,
For discipline when I needed it,
I sure do love you, DAD!
Today, Jesus, as You are listening
in your home above;
Would you go and find my dad
and give him all my love.
~~~~~~~TO MY DAD~~~~~~~

It broke my heart to lose you,
But you did not go alone
Part of me went with you,
the day God called you home.
A million times I've thought of you
A million times I've cryed
If loving could have saved you
You would have never died
Forgive me Lord, I'll always weep
For the Dad I loved but could not keep.

Here is a poem I wrote and read at the funeral:

~~~TO MY LOVING DAD~~~
With a tear in every eye,
We have all come to say goodbye.
It is so sad,
This is the day we have to bury our Dad.
Here to send our Dad's body to heaven,
One sure thing he will never be forgotten.
We surely had Thee Best Dad,
For everything you did for us we are oh so glad.
You will forever be in our minds and hearts,
And this is where your journey starts.
We love you more than words can say,
And you will be remembered each and every day.
~~~Dad~~~
If Tears Could Build A Stairway, And Memories A Lane, I'd Walk Right Up To Heaven And Bring You Home Again.

~~~~Not Gone~~~~
Not gone, simply waiting on the other side in the arms of Jesus.
~~Thank You Dad~~~
Thanks Dad For chasing away the monsters at night and fixing my broken toys. For holding my hand when I was scared and letting go when I needed to run; For saying no when it needed to be said, and saying yes when it wasn't easy. And most of all,for loving me.
