In loving memory of my grandfather.

William Montgomery Jones, 68, former merchant and postmaster at Pauls Cross Roads, died Tuesday.
He was a native of Essex County, a member and deacon at Ephesus Baptist Church, and a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie F. Jones; five sons, Wilbert Jones of Huntsville, Ala., Vernon W. Jones of Stevensville, Clyde M. Jones of Bruington, James E. Jones of Richmond and Louis W. Jones of Tappahannock; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Davis of Millers Tavern and Mrs. Louise Brizendine of Tappahannock; three brothers, Julian and Richard Jones, both of Baltimore, MD, and Ernest Jones of Dunnsville; two sisters, Mrs. Elva Phillips of Millers Tavern and Mrs. Emma Williams of Bruington; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Ephesus Baptist Church, Dunnsville, with burial in the church cemetery. T. D. Marks Funeral Home of Tappahannock in charge of arrangements.

My grandfather ran a country store which included a gas station, grocery store and small post office. When he was younger, the family lived a short while in Baltimore and he was a conductor on a streetcar.
