Mrs. Nancy (Dixie) Smith Ambrose, age 74, died October 30 at 10.20 p.m. in Norfolk General Hospital after a short illness. She was a native and life long resident of East Lake and a member of the East Lake Holiness Church.
Surviving are four sons: Irving Ambrose of East Lake, Delbert Ambrose, Willard Lee Ambrose and Terry S. Ambrose, all of Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Caroline Muth of Portsmouth, Va.; two brothers: Sam Smith of Elizabeth City and Luke Smith of Norfolk, Va.; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the East Lake United Methodist Church by Rev. Vance Way, assisted by Rev. Noah Toler. Burial was in the church cemetery with Twiford Colony Chapel in charge. She was the widow of the late Andrew Lee Ambrose.
