SHREVEPORT, LA - The Home-going Celebration for Mrs. Ella Victoria "Dorothy Jean" Lewis will be conducted at 2:30 pm Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Little Union Baptist Church, 1846 Milam Street in Shreveport, LA. Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Open visitation will be Friday, April 13, 2007 at Little Union Baptist Church between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm. The Family Hour will be from 6 pm - 7 pm.
Mrs. Lewis was born December 22, 1944 in Shreveport, LA. Her earthly journey ended suddenly Sunday, April 8, 2007. Ella was a LPN in Shreveport for over 30 years, and an employee of Willis-Knighton Physicians Services. She was a member of Little Union Baptist Church for over 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Mae Williams; father, Adam E. Jackson; one sister, JoAnn Preston. She is survived by a devoted and dear friend, Sammie Lewis; four children: Micheal Lewis (Angela) of Chicago, IL; Wanda Olie (Emmanuel) of Little Rock, AR; Shelia Lewis and Chadwick Lewis, both of Shreveport, LA; three sisters, Joyce Williams (Arthur); Cynthia Preston of Dallas, TX; Arletha Williams; four grandchildren, Gerard, Courtney, Emmanuel, and Gabrielle; one great-grandchild; two aunts, Nola Hall of Fresno, CA and Della Akers of Los Angeles, CA; one uncle, L.G. Holmes of Los Angeles, CA; three nieces, Patricia Preston, Wameshia Gardner, Shatney Gardner; one nephew, Warren Gardner, four special cousins, Donna Blount, Daly City, CA; Sandra Cain, Oakland, CA; Leisha Akers, Los Angeles, CA and Randy Walker, Fairfield, CA; and a multitude of family and friends.
