Thomas J. Hensley was born November 17, 1851; died September 17, 1924, aged 72 years and 10 months. He was united in marriage to Arvazena Jarrett in 1873. To this union were born 10 children—6 boys and 4 girls. Three girls and 1 boy preceded him in death to the spirit land in infancy. We here give the names of those living—William, Arthur, Milton, John, Harvey and Mrs. Emma Blankenship.

Bro. Hensley was born I Cole County, Mo. and came to Miller County when very young. He has lived on a farm north of Iberia for a number of years.

For the past few years he has been in failing health and on Wednesday, Sept. 17, while sitting in a chair reading the paper the summons came and he quietly passed out of his earthly home to his home above the Kingdom of God. He died in the presence of his aged and feeble wife and son William.

Bro Hensley was one of Miller County's honorable and well-respected citizens, highly esteemed and loved by all who knew him. Some 40 years ago he united with the church, thus making preparations for the future. Fourteen years ago he united with the Fairview Christian Church in the community in which he lived. He was an efficient, faithful, loyal member.

He leaves to mourn his departure his faithful wife; six children; a number of grandchildren and a brother, Joseph Hensley of Sand Springs, Okla.; also other relatives and many friends.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. C.M. Sooter at the Jarrett Cemetery, the home and family burying ground. Quite a number of the old time friends were present to pay their respects to one so worthy.
